Meet Mamta: Our Design Competition Winner!

Meet Mamta: Our Design Competition Winner!

As we celebrate 10 years of St Remio, we’ve taken time to reflect on our journey and the values that have guided us from day one. A big part of that reflection has been looking at how our brand has evolved, and particularly how our packaging has become a powerful tool to share our story, our purpose and the impact we’re proud to make.

To mark this milestone, we invited our incredible community to be part of the next chapter. We launched a design competition, challenging our followers and customers to create a limited-edition coffee bean bag and keep cup that captures the essence of St Remio, that is- empowering female coffee farmers, championing ethical and sustainable coffee, and reminding people that every cup tells a story.

We were blown away by the creativity and passion in the entries, but one design truly stood out. Congratulations to Mamta Pandit, a talented graphic designer based in India, whose thoughtful and beautiful design was chosen as the winner. We chatted  with Mamta to learn more about her journey, her inspiration and how she brought the St Remio story to life through her work.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

My name is Mamta Pandit, and I am a graphic designer based in India. I recently launched my small studio, Wrapx Design Studio, where we specialize in storytelling through packaging and brand identity. I believe in creating work that is not only visually striking but also emotionally meaningful designs that truly connect with people on a deeper level.

Describe your illustrative process.

I always begin by understanding the essence of the brand. With St Remio, I was deeply inspired by your mission to empower women in coffee, which became the central theme of my concept. I started with rough sketches exploring themes of unity, strength, and warmth. From there, I developed the digital illustration using earthy tones and subtle contrasts to create depth. Every detail, from the expressions of the women to the foliage, was intentionally crafted to tell a heartfelt and empowering story.

What made you want to pursue graphic design?

Art has always been a part of my life, but discovering graphic design showed me how creativity can effectively communicate meaning. What truly drew me in was the idea that a single design could tell a story, evoke emotion, or inspire someone. That's what I love most, using design as a form of connection.

What are some brands you get inspiration from?

I'm inspired by brands like Patagonia, Oatly, and Aesop for their authentic storytelling and purpose-driven identities. They feel genuine and emotionally resonant. I would honestly include St Remio on that list as well. The way you blend purpose, people, and product is truly inspiring, and that spirit deeply influenced my approach to this project.

Describe how you interpreted the St Remio brand in your design.

For me, this project was about honouring the women behind the coffee. I wanted to represent their strength, nurturing energy, and their deep connection to the land. Elements like the sun, coffee cherries, and lush greenery reflect hope, growth, and life. My aim was to create an illustration that felt warm, handmade, and slightly nostalgic, something heartfelt and intimate. This wasn't just a design for me; it felt like a tribute.

Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity. I am truly honoured and grateful to be a part of your 10-year celebration, and it means a great deal to have my work recognized by a brand I've admired for a long time. This is a very special moment for me.

Stay tuned as we unveil this special limited-edition series, designed by our community, inspired by purpose, and made to celebrate the next 10 years of impact.
