2024/25
Ongoing maintenance of the land and Agronomist
Cocagi, Rwanda
At St Remio, our mission goes beyond the cup. In the 2024/25 financial year, we deepened our commitment to the incredible female farming community in Rwanda by investing in long-term, sustainable solutions that make a real difference at origin.
We proudly funded the purchase of a cow for the women’s cooperative, along with the construction of a dedicated shed to care for it. In a region where transporting manure to the plantation has long been a difficult and time-consuming task, having access to organic manure onsite is a game changer. It provides a steady, sustainable source of fertilizer to enrich the soil and improve crop health — all while reducing the physical burden of carrying it as the plantation is remote and it is difficult to access.
We also funded essential farming activities including compost making, mulching, pruning of the coffee trees, weeding, and erosion control. These investments are designed to protect and enhance the land, ensuring healthier harvests now and into the future.

Most importantly, we provided access to an agronomist — giving the women expert guidance on how to work in harmony with their land, improve yields, and build resilience against the growing challenges of climate change.
Because when we empower women at origin with the tools, training, and support they need, we don’t just grow better coffee — we help grow stronger communities.
This is impact. This is St Remio.
